Elephant Sanctuary Tasik Kenyir


Elephant Sanctuary is a new attraction in Lake Kenyir besides Sanctuary Miller, waterfalls, mountains and caves Bewah. Sanctuary covering 15,000 hectares located in the River Ketiar, Hulu Terengganu. Travel distance from the city of Kuala Terengganu is 140 km (2 hours), highway (86 km), Pengakalan Gawi (56 km) and the state-Manitoba border in Felda aring (11 km).

Sanctuary works to place elephants are captured elsewhere and menjinak elephants to perform. Elephants are trained to lead people, give respect and receive instructions. The language is the language used to communicate to the word sit Mymar, Thai language for Malay bow and to eat.



Two elephants named Seri Suria 3 years old and 10 years old. Seri comes from Felda Keratong, Pahang and solar comes from Kampung Pak Kancil, Setiu. Sanctuary is open every day from 11 am - 1 pm and 3 pm - 5 pm. Time to ride at 3 pm - 4 pm.
To view and elephant rides are free. Elephant weighs between 1.3 tonnes - 1.5 tonnes and need to eat 100 kg per day. Food for breakfast is bread, noon - sugarcane and evening - fruits such as papaya and watermelon.
